Assist our Working Group San Diego For Sustainable Development (SD4SD) in fostering and cultivating relationships with local organizations, federal, state and local government officials, government agencies, and the public to grow the grassroots UN advocacy community ensuring US funding of the United Nations and local implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Build on the advocacy “handbook” that includes standard procedures, templates, and tips by adding specific information to San Diego Political/Legislation Offices
Update/maintain database "Score Cards" of Political Office Holders with most current information on representative, contact information and respective “score cards” of current representative
Build rapport with current legislation and continue frequent visits to respective offices
Build rapport with local community to find support on advocacy initiatives
Global Classroom extends UNA USA San Diego mission of global understanding to K-12 students, teachers, parents and community members in fostering informed, actively engaged global citizens.

Strong understanding of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Assist in providing content for powerpoint presentations and develop informative programs for the monthly info sessions
Present in monthly info sessions on SDGs and current issues highlighted by the United Nations
Work closely with the Social Media Marketing committee to provide content for campaigns that advertise our programs
Maintain and update the “Global Classroom Knowledge Database”
Be readily available to participate and assist in yearly chapter events and support events hosted by our fellow committees
Social Media Communication is crucial in advancing the organization's mission on advocating and supporting the invaluable work of the United Nations. For this position, we seek someone that possesses strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites or a passionate social media user confident in his/her ability to provide professional postings.
Together with the Social Media Marketing Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for
Monitoring and daily posting on blogs and social networks
Creating & engaging in online forums
Participating in online outreach and promotion to potentially include live postings during local events
Contributing to optimizing our website, as applicable
