The Speakers Bureau
The Speakers Bureau works with San Diego’s diverse activist, nonprofit, and academic communities to provide opportunities to discuss important issues relevant to the United Nations and international affairs.
UNASD has hosted several exciting presentations on issues ranging from the crises in Uganda and Darfur, the situation in Myanmar, global warming, and the UN Declaration on Human Rights. Our speakers have included UNASD members, outstanding faculty from the University of San Diego and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and nonprofit experts from organizations including the Campaign to End the Genocide in Uganda, EarthRights International, Thailand, Invisible Children, and Trade Unions Burma, Thailand.
UNASD has members who are expert in international issues and are available to speak to your group or class on matters of current international significance, such as relations between the US and the UN, global education, international law, the war in Iraq, and the role of women in international affairs.
