Welcome to the United Nations Association of San Diego, located in beautiful Balboa Park.. We are committed to educating the local commiunity about the important role the United Nations plays in our daily lives. I hope you will join us for our Meet & Greet (& Eat!) Member Appreciation Night on Thursday, September 9 at 6 pm. Over wine and appetizers, come learn more about our organization and how to get more involved. Then on September 17, join UNASD to "Stand Up, Take Action, Make Noise" and be part of a global movement pressing governments to make ending poverty a priority. Please watch this website for updated information about this action. In the meantime, you can take action on your own at the Millennium Campaign.

We will continue our work on achieving the Millennium Development Goals at our celebration of "Our Panet, Our Responsibility" commemorating the 65th anniversary of the United Nations. On October 23, UNASD will host a luncheon at the Prado Restaurant. Meet fellow members, bid on items in a silent auction, and enjoy great food. Our keynote speaker is Reno Harnish III, speaking on "The United Nations: Protecting the Global Commons." Ambassador Harnish is a retired career foreign service officer with broad experience in international efforts to preserve our environment. Currently, he is Ambassador in Residence and serves as Director of the Center for Environment and National Security at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
