REGISTRATION POLICIES – DELEGATE FOR CONFERENCES, SESSIONS, DPI BRIEFINGS, WORKSHOPS AT U.N. WORLDWIDE
A valid membership with the United Nations Association of the United States of America, San Diego Chapter (UNA-USA San Diego) is pre-requisite for consideration as delegate to any registrations at the United Nations. The applicant has to be in good standing with the organization; specifically paying his/her membership fees, attend at least three (3) events a year and uphold the values of UNA-USA San Diego.
To be considered as delegate to represent UNA-USA San Diego at any U.N. session, the member is required to submit a written statement to the President, see Application Process. After all documents have been received by the President, the Executive Committee reviews the application and rules on a decision within fifteen (15) days upon receipt of request; the fifteen days period starts based on the date stamp of President’s email to applicant confirming ALL materials have been received. After review by the Executive Committee, the President will personally notify the applicant about the result of the meeting. In some cases the executive body will invite the applicant to a personal meeting in order to rule on the final decision.

Written Statement of Intent
- Applicants’ current involvement with UNA-USA San Diego
- Outline why applicant is best choice to represent the organization
- What are the hopes to gain from attendance
- How will learned material be applied after return (personally/professionally)
- Indicate prior conferences that had been attended at U.N.
Description of Desired Event at the UN
- Exact title, date and location of event
- Organizer (Name of U.N. agency ie. ECOSOC, UNHCR etc)
- If applicable, weblink to event
Please note, all registrations at the U.N. require personal information of the applicant including but not restricted to date of birth, location of birth, current address and passport information.
UNA-USA San Diego is not providing any travel funding or assistance with financial reimbursements as accrued in connection with attendance at U.N. conferences. The Executive Committee holds the right to reject any applicant that it deems unfit to represent UNA-USA San Diego in order to protect its Consultative Status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council.
